Big N Bashy is one the hottest nights to hit Edinburgh’s Saturday night club scene in recent years + has already gained a steady + loyal following amongst Edinburgh’s clubbers for its up-to-the-minute, bass-heavy sounds.

Bored of the usual one genre per night ethos of most nights, the Big N Bashy team plays the finest reggae, grime, dubstep and jungle through a monster combination of The Bongo Club's in house sound system and an extra six subs care of the well respected dub reggae sounds of the Messenger Sound System.  With this great combo of musical styles and a killer sound system Big N Bashy delivers the biggest beats and bashiest basslines, while The Messenger ensures the good vibrations all night long!

THE WILDERS - 12 July 2009

Presented by Brookfield Knights

Last time The Wilders appeared in Scotland, a capacity crowd at their sold-out Celtic Connections show soon found out why they were renowned as the “hillbilly hurricane” from Kansas City.

In full, unstoppable flight, the band is firmly established as an Edinburgh Fringe favourite after sell-out runs over three consecutive years at The Famous Spiegeltent. Triumphant winners of a Herald Angel with a five-star review from the publication, the Scotsman said: ‘They generate the kind of tunes that should by rights leave vapour trails’.  The Missouri-based four-piece, is back to thrill capacity crowds again following their sensational tour here last year.

They were the fave raves of Belfast's Open House Festival in 2008 and in January, wowed Glasgow’s Celtic Connections Festival in front of 1600 at the city’s Old Fruitmarket.  Filmed for the BBC 2 Highlights programme, television presenter Mary Ann Kennedy introduced them as “one of the undoubted hits of the event”.

Playing storming roots-of-country and old-time with a pure essence of early rockabilly, they deliver a blistering fiddle/banjo/guitar/dobro/slap bass hoedown, playing whiz-bang music as infectious, fun-loving and goodtime as you will ever hear.

Since they first took Doc Watson’s MerleFest by storm back in 2004, The Wilders have returned every year to build on their reputation as show-stealers of the huge North Carolina event, attended each year by 80,000 music fans.

A brand new CD - “Someone’s Got To Pay” - recorded in Louisiana and produced by the legendary Dirk Powell - went straight to the top of the Roots of Country Top 50 on its release in the USA and in January won them the Best Alt-Country Album title in the prestigious American Independent Music Awards.

This latest visit includes main stage appearances at big summer festivals in England, Ireland and Scotland – including their first ever performance at the HebCelt Fest in Stornoway.
